Specializing in the
development and manufacture of both houseware and stationery
items, Taiwan-based Martin's International recently added a
new cookware set to its product lineup.
The set includes
four pieces-a saucepan, a wok and two frying pans-all of which
feature convenient foldaway handles, allowing for easy storage.
The new items are made from bakelite material and their handles
double as utensil holders so that users do not have to search
for a separate spot to set down such cooking accessories when
not in use."Our cookware is practical because it saves
space in the kitchen,"noted Peggy Lee, a company spokesperson.
Martin's International cookware comes in several series, including
stainless steel and non-stick varieties.
As with the company's
other products, the new items are the result of in-house R&D,
and have received patents in the U.S., Japan, Germany, mainland
China and Taiwan. They will be released on the market early
next year.
Production of the new cookware has
already commenced at a subcontractor's factory in Guangdong
province of mainland China, according to Lee."The basic
production cost for this kind of product is relatively high,
so we can achieve significant cost reductions by manufacturing
in China,"she explained.
